Privacy policy
The short version: everything you log stays on your phone. Potato Tracker has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we never sell your data. If you choose to use community features when they arrive, we'll store a small profile and your potato points totals, but never what you ate or when.
Who we are
Potato Tracker is made by Happy Rose LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("Happy Rose", "we", "us"). This policy explains what the Potato Tracker app does with information about you. Our website has its own short privacy notice.
What stays on your phone
Potato Tracker saves these things in a database inside the app, on your device:
- Your potato log: the dish, how many small, medium and large portions, when you ate it, and any note you add
- Dishes you make with "Make your own", and which dishes are in your Log
- Your weekly potato points target and dish goals
- The badges you've unlocked, and when
- Your potato avatar and your settings, such as your hand's skin tone and size, and appearance
We can't see any of this. The app doesn't send it to us or to anyone else.
Backups: if you use iCloud Backup, or your Android phone's backup, your phone's backups may include this data. Apple or Google stores those backups under your own account, and we can't access them.
What we collect today
Nothing. Potato Tracker contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code, and it doesn't connect to the internet. We don't track you across other apps or websites.
The Community tab in today's app shows sample potato people only. Nothing you do there leaves your phone.
Buying the app
Potato Tracker is sold through Apple's App Store (and, later, Google Play). Apple or Google handles your payment. We never see your card or payment details. The stores give us sales reports that don't identify you. Their own privacy policies cover your purchase.
When you use community features
Friends, leaderboards and challenges are planned and optional. Everything else in the app keeps working without an account. We'll update this policy, and tell you in the app, before community features start collecting anything.
To use them, you'll sign in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. Accounts are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions and Cloud Messaging), which Google runs for us as our service provider.

What we'll never upload
Your individual log entries, notes, or what you ate and when. Your phone works out your potato points totals and challenge progress, and sends only those numbers.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information, share it for advertising, or use it to track you. It goes only to:
- Google (Firebase), which stores and processes it for us
- Apple or Google, to sign you in and deliver notifications
- Authorities, if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety
- A new owner, if Happy Rose or the app is sold or merged. This policy would continue to apply
Firebase may store your information on servers in the United States or other countries.
How long we keep things
- Your log stays on your phone until you delete it or the app.
- Your community account stays until you delete it.
- Weekly leaderboard scores are deleted after 12 weeks.
- Challenges are deleted 30 days after their deadline.
- Reports are kept only as long as we need to deal with them and keep the community safe.
Deleting your data and account
Your log: delete single entries in Settings → History (swipe to delete), or delete the app to remove everything.
Your community account: go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your profile, handle, friends, challenges, notification tokens and your account. You can also email support@happyrose.io from the email address linked to your account, or with your @handle, and we'll delete it within 30 days. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke our Sign in with Apple access when your account is deleted. Your log stays on your phone, because it was never uploaded.
Children
Potato Tracker isn't directed to children under 13, and community features require you to be 13 or older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
- You can use Potato Tracker without ever creating an account.
- We ask before sending notifications, and you can turn them off at any time in your phone's settings.
- You can ask us for a copy of your community data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing support@happyrose.io. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK, California or Colorado), the law may give you these rights. We'll honour requests from everyone.
- We don't sell or "share" personal information as California law defines those words, and we don't use it for targeted advertising or profiling.
Security
Firebase encrypts data in transit and at rest, and our security rules limit who can read what. No system is perfect, so we collect as little as we can.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. For important changes, like turning on community features, we'll also tell you in the app first.
